student profiles

CODY GILLELAND
In 2005, senior electrical engineering major Cody Gilleland and his co-researchers developed a laser-detectable artificial blood membrane. Cody presented his findings at major international conferences and was asked to review technical papers of PhDs.

JANG-BAE JEON & CARLO FLORESCA

Jang-Bae and Carlo are part of UTD's Nano and Beyond Research Laboratory. As research assistants, they are looking for the smallest solutions to some of the world's largest problems. At the nano-scale, they are developing silicon circuitry that can blend and stretch like rubber, without losing its ability to function.

LI LIU

While investigating security issues in data mining, graduate student Li Liu is currently working toward her Ph.D. in Computer Science. She is searching for new ways to protect identity and privacy--bank accounts, retirement accounts and health records.
