Goeckner is is an associate professor of electrical engineering and director of UTD’s Plasma Science Laboratory. He has chaired the department’s Undergraduate Curriculum Committee for the past two years, and one of the major outcomes has been the EE Fundamentals Chart, which required working with the entire EE faculty to document the full range of skills and knowledge that an electrical engineering undergraduate is expected to master.

Prabhakaran is an associate professor of computer science whose research concerns multimedia systems, databases, authoring and presentation, resource management and scalable Web-based multimedia presentation servers. He has served on several department committees, including the TA Committee, the TE Undergraduate Committee and the Graduate Admissions Committee, which he currently chairs. He has also been an active member of the UTD Academic Calendar Committee and the Faculty Senate.

Established in 2003, the Jonsson School’s Faculty Service Awards include a $20,000 grant to be used for research or teaching.
